Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and this type of cancer occurs in the prostate gland, which produces the fluid, semen. This gland is a small and a walnut-shaped gland and the seminal fluid produced by it helps the transportation of the sperm. The real cause of prostate cancer is still undetermined yet. However, it is believed that there are several factors, which may cause this type of cancer in men. According to doctors, mutations can be one factor that might cause prostate cancer in some people. Due to mutations, the cells of the prostate gland start growing and dividing very quickly and hence, these abnormal cells cause normal cells to die. These abnormal cells accumulate to form a tumor, which is generally the beginning of cancer.

    This is one of the treatment processes of prostate cancer in which ionizing radiation or photons are utilized to kill the cancer cells. During this treatment, the cells, which you target will die and do not grow and replicate further.

    In this process, the complete prostate gland will be removed from your body through surgery. This type of surgery is known as radical prostatectomy. This treatment is used on individuals whose prostate cancer has not spread to other body parts.
  • Hormone therapy
    This therapy will mainly target on the testosterone as it is the main fuel for the growth of cancer cell in the prostate gland.
  • Chemotherapy
    This is the main treatment given to those people who have widely spread cancer and this treatment will be the only hope for them.
